Salisbury's Steve Claridge speaks

Loss of Balance affecting results

Salisbury FC boss Steve Claridge has spoken in the wake of the weekend’s 4-2 FA Cup loss at home to Margate, highlighting a need to make some changes to the squad.

He told the club’s website: “Now is not the time to overreact, as I don’t think we’re a million miles away, particularly knowing there are players out injured that can make a big difference and those that have just returned that also need to get up to full speed, but in some positions, certainly there are players that are very similar to one another, and we might need to look at freshening up one or two areas just to give us a different option.

“No one’s talking about wholesale changes but maybe with the players, we lost in the summer has meant a little bit of balance and creativity went out of the side.

“The coaching team and I need to make sure we’re working on getting back to the standards that we’ve set ourselves since getting into this league and we’ll be working hard with the players to ensure this happens. Acquiring the right players has proved incredibly difficult but hopefully over the next month getting the one or two in that we need will make the difference and help take us back to the level of performance we’ve set.”
