BBC meets the Yeltz in the FA Cup

Halesown Town FC - Club Statement

Halesowen Town FC are delighted to announce that their Emirates FA Cup 3rd qualifying round tie at home to National League North side Altrincham on Saturday October 5th has been chosen to be streamed live on the BBC Sport website, app, red button and iPlayer.

The BBC visited the Grove today to ensure that the facilities were up to their expected standards and in a meeting with General manager Neil Broughton it was quickly decided that the Grove was without a doubt a very suitable venue.

As a result of the coverage the game will be moved to a 12.30pm kick off.

We caught up with Director of Football Keith McKenna who was obviously delighted with the BBC’s decision. “This is a great day for everyone associated with Halesowen Town FC and helps raise the profile of the club and the Town of Halesowen itself. We are very much looking forward to the game and can only thank the BBC for choosing us to feature on their famous FA Cup football channel.''

The Yeltz were already anticipating a bumper crowd for this game and the added bonus of the TV cameras will only serve to highlight its importance with both teams battling to be in the draw for the 4th qualifying round and just one game away from the lucrative 1st round proper.
