Seagulls release keeper - Liam Kingston

Weston super Mare looking for first-team football.

Scott Barlett
Liam has been waiting in the wings for too long without a realistic chance to play first-team football so needs to go and find his way in the game.
“Liam went to Melksham on a long-term loan which we hoped would work out, unfortunately, it didn’t so we have recalled him and set up a permanent move which should help him settle and start his career.

Player Profile
Liam has risen through the club’s Academy and is now the understudy to fellow academy graduate, Luke Purnell.
Liam made his debut under Ryan Northmore in the first pre-season friendly of 2016-2017 at the age of just 16, away to Toolstation Western League side Bitton. Liam was slowly integrated into the first-team setup by Scott Bartlett during 2016-2017, and Liam was on the losing side in the Somerset Premier Cup against Taunton Town. The youngster also served as Bridgwater Town’s starting keeper from October during 2016-2017 but was unable to save them from the drop in the Southern League South & West.
Liam went out on loan to Western League Division One side Cheddar during 2017-2018, putting in a string of impressive performances as he played regular first-team football for the second season running, making 40 appearances for the Cheeseman. Kingston also featured in all of Weston’s Somerset Premier Cup games throughout the season, and was the semi-final hero as he pulled off some impressive saves and denied Bath City’s Anthony Straker in the shootout to send Weston through to the final, where they triumphed over Paulton Rovers with ‘Kinger’ in net for the Seagulls.
Kingston joined Western League Premier Division side Shepton Mallet on a three-month loan in August 2018 where he made five appearances but was recalled due to Luke Purnell’s suspension in September.
In November 2018, Kingston joined Southern League Division One South side Street on loan and stayed there until the final day of the campaign, where he made 25 appearances and kept seven clean sheets with the Cobblers finishing 8th in the league, the highest finish in their history.
In August 2019, the young goalkeeper joined Southern League Division One South side Melksham Town on a season-long loan. Kingston has currently made six appearances for Melksham as of September 21st 2019.
