Commanding centre-back Matt Day captained Hungerford Town as they climbed up to the Vanarama National League South and was part of Bracknell Town team which reached the play-off final last season. The 33-year-old started out on Portsmouth`s books and then made 80 appearances for Oxford United before joining Hungerford, firstly in 2009 and, after short spells with Beaconsfield SYCOB and Eastleigh, again in 2011. Left the Crusaders for Wealdstone in 2017/18 and, after a loan spell with Slough Town, signed for Bracknell in the summer of 2018.

At the other end of the pitch, the Kingfishers have brought in Felipe Barcelos, who has been a prolific goalscorer in non-League football. Barcelos originates from the Brazilian town of Dourados and moved to the UK as a teenager.

He progressed through the ranks at Oxford City and had spells with Banbury United, Grantham Town and Cirencester Town and had a season at ASD Santhia in Italian Serie D but is perhaps best known for playing a key role in Didcot Town’s successful 2017/18 season when he scored 27 league and cup goals and was also named managers` and players` player of the year. After beginning the 2017/18 season at Didcot, he had brief spells with Moneyfields and Stratford Town before returning to the Loop Meadow in February 2019.

The supply line has been boosted with the signing of winger Joe Selman from Swindon Supermarine, joining in July 2016 after being released by Bristol City at the end of the 2015/16 season, becoming a regular name in the starting eleven and he chipped in with 12 goals in `Marine`s promotion campaign in 2017/18.able to play either on the right side of midfield or further forward and likes nothing better than going forward to take on the opposing defence.

Former youth team midfielder Alex Fragata, who last season played for Hungerford Town and Tadley Calleva, has re-joined Thatcham. After moving to Hungerford in 2017 and graduating from the Crusaders’ academy, he gained experience of National League South football, particularly during the 2017/18 season. Towards the end of the 2018/19 season, he got some matches under his belt during a spell with Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) Premier side Tadley Calleva.

Midfielder Sam Barder has arrived from Didcot will add quality to the midfield. Having broken into the Wantage Town senior team at the age of 16, he spent a couple of years at Alfredian Park before signing for Didcot in 2016. Spent three seasons at The Loop Meadow where he was part of the team which reached the playoffs and the final of the Southern League Cup. An ever-present in 2018/19 as the Railwaymen finished seventh in Division One Central.

Young central midfielder George Farrelly has arrived from Wessex Premier side Alresford Town where he made a strong impression last season. Farrelly, 17, joined Andover following his release from AFC Bournemouth. During the 2016/17 season, he was part of the Andover youth team which reached the third round of the FA Youth Cup before being eliminated by Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

One very familiar face has returned as goalkeeper Paul Strudley, whose involvement with club stretches back to 2004, re-joins. Strudley was involved at Waterside Park last season in more of a coaching capacity but is eager to resume his playing career with the Kingfishers. Last season he played four times for the Kingfishers while making several appearances for Southern Premier South - Hartley Wintney with whom he was dual-registered. But now he is signed up to be Thatcham’s first choice keeper for the 2019/20 season.
