Gav Macpherson before Merthyr Town FC match
Picking a team Is getting more difficult as the season goes on, there’s some serious decisions to take – but in a good way.
If I was sitting thinking we haven’t got players to play in that position then it would be a very different situation.
Since we started pre season I’ve asked the players to give me competition for places. I can’t now start complaining as they continue to do that and decisions become harder. It’s as if they’ve put the challenge back in my lap and it’s a great situation to be in as Manager.
I’ve got players who are making it really difficult to leave them out and that is a massive plus as we enter what will be a very testing week of football.
We have a committed bunch, everyone is talking about Weymouth and Taunton but those games will take care of themselves.
Of course we will plan as usual but right now we are fully focussed on the visit of Merthyr. The mere fact that I’m talking in this way means we are in the mix, I can only ask the players give everything in the remaining games.
